2019 began with the Mega River Clean-Up Drive and Maha Aarti of the Mula–Mutha, including a Gandhi Jayanti mobilisation of at least 20,000 citizens on 2 October 2019, 7:30 am. That February, the “My River My Valentine” gathering at NFAI, Pune showed 80+ student films on cleaning Pune’s rivers and a fashion show of recycled-garbage costumes.
It became a named yearly movement in 2020. In 2024 it was taken to Latur, Ahmednagar, Satara, Nagpur and Wardha. An early trash-barrier pilot on the Mutha near Baba Bhide Bridge was later taken forward by PMC.
